<div itemprop="description">MOLLINS, FREDERICK BAXTER &ndash; 83 of Dartmouth passed away peacefully January 13, 2014 at the Dartmouth General Hospital with family by his side. Born in Shediac, NB he was the son of the late Frank and Elsie (Taylor) Mollins. Fred worked for CN Rail for 35 years retiring in 1985. Following retirement Fred enjoyed 28 years devoted to his wife and family. He had a loving and close relationship as a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Fred will be remembered as a gentle, kind man who was loved by everyone. He was an avid hockey and baseball fan and was recently honoured by the town of Shediac as a surviving member of the 1948 New Brunswick Provincial Junior Championship Hockey Team. Fred is survived by daughter Jennifer (Bruce) Filek, grandchildren Benjamin, Amy, Patrick and great granddaughter Renee, sister Betty, brothers Harry (Betty), Don (Leslie), Jim (Annie), Lou, Leigh (Minnie), sister in law Helen Mollins, Enid and Myra Shand, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by the love of his life of 54 years Edith Shand, brothers Robert and Roy, brothers in law Floyd (Evelyn), Harold, Randall, Russell (Mary) and Ervin (Vivian) Shand, sisters in law Barbara (Clifford) Nauffts and Doris Mollins. Cremation has taken place. Family will receive visitors Wednesday 7-9 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home 771 Main St., Dartmouth. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2014 in Atlantic Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ivan Gregan officiating. Burial in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation.</div>
