<div itemprop="description">FREEMAN-MOLLINS, Elizabeth &ldquo;Betty&rdquo; Jean (Dillman) - 87, of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness, on March 28, 2015, at Northwood Centre surrounded by her loving family. Born in Dartmouth, she was a daughter of the late Robie Dillman and Minerva (Cribby) Dillman. She was predeceased by husband, Cecil Freeman; son- in-law Wayne Sitland; brothers, Eric Dillman and Allan Dillman; and sister Queenie (Gordon) Reid and her lifelong special friend, Clare Kelly.<br /><br />She will be lovingly remembered by husband, Harry Mollins; sister Carol (Dave) Heming, Bridgewater; brother, Lloyd (Kaye) Dillman, Eastern Passage; son Robert &ldquo;Bob&rdquo;, Ottawa, ON, and daughters, Lynda Sitland, Halifax, Brenda (Kelly) Upton, Coldbrook, and Rhonda (Kevin) Burke, Dartmouth, step-daughters, Debra (Scott) McKeown, Sarnia, ON, Jocelyn (Will) Godbout, Mission, BC; 7 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 6 step-great-grandchildren. <br /><br />She was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.<br /><br />Betty was someone who constantly supported the family she treasured so much and was most comfortable generously giving to others. <br /><br />She spent her entire life volunteering and monetarily supporting many different organizations and was recognized for Outstanding Contributions to many of these: Notting Park School Breakfast Program, Boys and Girls Club, Heart and Stroke Foundation of NS, the Cancer Society, The Foster Children Program, she spent over 20 years visiting residents and leading the monthly Hymn Sing at Oakwood Terrace. She dedicated her life to Stairs Memorial United Church and was involved in many activities, was a lifetime member of the United Church Women and held many positions on the Executive, chairing various committees, leading programs, devotions, and planning many activities and helping others to prepare their devotions and programs.<br /><br />She was born into a musical family and loved singing and music. She was a member of Stairs Memorial Choir for 72 years, in the Dartmouth Chorale Society and the Aeolian Singers.<br /><br />Visitation will be held from 2 &ndash; 4 and 7 - 9 pm, on Wed., Apr. 1 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. There will be a service of Musical Celebration for Betty&rsquo;s Life at Stairs Memorial United Church, 44 Hester Street, Dartmouth, 1:00 pm, Thursday Apr. 2, 2015 with a reception following in the church hall. Private burial will take place at Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.<br /><br />In lieu of flowers by Betty&rsquo;s request, donations may be made to Stairs Memorial Organ &amp; Choir Fund. <br /><br />The family will forever be grateful for the kindness shown to her by the staff of Northwood Centre, Jamieson Hall at Parkland, and Stairs Memorial Church.<br /><br />Online condolences may be made by visiting the Dartmouth chapel at www.atlanticfuneralhomes.com<br /><br /> <br /><br /> <br /><br /></div>
