Elizabeth Ann Severin (nee Alexander) – Loving Wife, Mother, Grand-Mother and Great Grand-Mother passed peacefully on Saturday, March 11, 2017 in Dartmouth, NS at the age of 72. Elizabeth is predeceased by her loving husband George Joseph “Wayne” Severin.

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia on September 21, 1945 to the late Julia and Melbourne Alexander, (Nanny and Poppy), and as the only daughter and oldest of 4 children, Elizabeth had her hands full with 3 rambunctious, younger brothers; Derek (New Minas NS), Barry (Enfield NS) and Glen (Ottawa ON).

Elizabeth grew up in Kentville NS and moved to Halifax NS at the tender age of 19 where she brought her first child into the world, Theresa Lynn – now Karen Brown - who resides in Newfoundland. They were reunited 20 years ago, and had a close, wonderful relationship since that time.

Elizabeth found the true love of her life in George Joseph “Wayne” Severin and tied the knot with him in Halifax NS on Nov. 16, 1974. Over the next years, Elizabeth and Wayne lovingly raised their 2 children, Tamara Leigh and Mark William. Since that time, and over the past 30 years, Elizabeth’s family has grown by leaps and bounds to include 9 grandchildren; Daniel, Cory, Johnathan, Kyle, Kara, Kelsey, Katelyn, Megan and Eisha and, most recently, her first two great grandchildren – “Toddling” 2-Year-Old Brooke and “Trucking” 19-Month-Old Wayne (named after Elizabeth’s loving husband, father and great-grandfather). Elizabeth’s grandchildren and great grandchildren were one of her greatest joys.

Elizabeth and Wayne resided in Quispamsis NB for the past 30 years and they will be remembered and missed dearly by their many friends. Elizabeth will also be remembered for many hours of volunteer time to many organizations over the years where she helped to make a difference. As an avid quilter and embroiderer, all who know Elizabeth have many beautiful quilts she lovingly gave to remember and cherish her by.

A memorial service will be held at Quispamsis United Church in Quispamsis NB on Saturday March 18, 2017 at 2:30pm with a reception to follow in the church hall downstairs.
