Day (Gollan), Edna Muriel – Age 87 of Lake Echo, passed away May 12, 2014 at home surrounded by friends and family. Born in River John, she was a daughter of the late Gladys (Heighton) Gollan and the late John David Gollan and Abigail (Sutherland) Gollan. Edna was a member of PSAC for over 20 years and worked in Shearwater for 16 years. She also was a foster mother to many sick children. Edna also enjoyed knitting and camping. She is survived by daughters Mary (Glen) McGinnis, Arizona, Jeannie (Willis ) Langille, River John, Sheila Day, Dartmouth; sons John (Linda) Day, Arkansas, David (Lynn) Day, Mineville; sister Verna (Gord) Chesney, Woodstock Ont,; brother Rollie (Shirley) Gollan, River John; son in law Donald Watt, Lake Echo; brother in law Jackie McLeod, River John; grandchildren Graham, Duncan (Mary), Cindy, Dwayne (Jeannie), Jason, Karrie (Yvonne), Deacon, Logan, Killian (John), 16 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Edna was predeceased by her husband Cecil; daughter Yvonne Watt; sister Audrey MacLeod and brother, Manceal Gollan. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. The memorial service will be held on Saturday July 12th at 2pm in The Atlantic Funeral Home Dartmouth Chapel, Rev. James Haughn officiating. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
