Dora (Shears) Renouf
February 12, 1946 - December 28, 2015
RENOUF (Shears), Dora – age 69 of Dartmouth passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, December 28, 2015 in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in McKay’s, Newfoundland on February 12, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Menorah (Warren) Shears. Family was extremely important to Dora with her greatest pride being her two sons and her four grandchildren. Dora was an avid bowler on various city bowling leagues and often attended church services at St. Luke’s Anglican Church. Dora is survived by her sons, Gary (Cindy), Fall River and Chad (Tara), Dartmouth; grandchildren, Ben, Mathew, Madeline “Maddie” and Joshua; Gary and Chad’s father, Peter Renouf, Oakfield; sisters, Rose Layden (Stan), Newfoundland; Olive Brake (Robert), Windsor Junction; Dianne Shears MacDonald, Dartmouth; Josephine Howe (Stan), Enfield; Cicely Gillam, Dartmouth; brothers, Ronald Shears (Laura), Chester; Alec Shears (Mary), Newfoundland; Ches Shears (Beulah), Digby; and Donald Shears (Renee), Beaverbank; brother-in-law, Gerald Boudreau, Dartmouth; and also numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Keith Shears; sisters, Bernice Boudreau and Muriel Hulan; brothers-in-law, Willie Gillam and Gus Hulan; sister- in- law, Sally Shears; nephew, Glen Layden; and great niece, Olivia Wong. A memorial service will be held 1pm Saturday, January 2 at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, 9 Veteran’s Avenue, Dartmouth. Reception to follow in the church hall. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank, for their care and compassion, the nurses and doctors of the 6th floor, Victoria General Hospital and 4th floor, Dartmouth General Hospital. Special acknowledgment to Rev. Keirsten Wells and Rev. Matthew Sponagle for their spiritual support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke's Memorial Fund, 9 Veteran's Ave., P.O.
