David Dumaresq
November 6, 1943 - February 16, 2015
Dumaresq, L. David – age 71 years of Eastern Passage. It is with great sadness in their hearts that the family announce David’s passing on February 16, 2015 at the Dartmouth General Hospital.
Born on November 6, 1943; he was a son of the late Caroline (MacKenzie) and Lawrence Dumaresq.
David retired from Via Rail in 1995; he loved watching Barette Jackson marathon auctions and lived for old cars, he was a little bit of a car buff. He was a devoted husband to Ruth who loved him with a passion from the first day they met and they continued to be as one throughout the years.
Left to cherish many fond and happy memories are his loving wife of 32 years Ruth A. (MacKinley); sons David Dumaresq of Beaver Bank and Michael Dumaresq of Kelowna, BC, both which he loved with a passion; sister Patricia Dumaresq of Dartmouth; grandsons Jason Dumaresq of Halifax and Bryan Dumaresq of Beaver Bank; granddaughter Taylor of Kelowna, BC who were the twinkle in his eyes; nieces Katie, Laura and Lillian MacKinley of Dartmouth, Melissa MacKinley of Halifax and Olivia Allison of Miramichi, NB; nephews Gordon and David Dumaresq of Dartmouth and Jim MacKinley of Fredericton, NB.
Predeceased by his first wife Sharon Ann Pitts.
In keeping with David’s wishes cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to join together for a graveside interment at the Dartmouth Memorial Gardens on Monday, February 23, 2015 at 2pm to say farewell to David and share some favorite memories.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to the War Amps or any children’s hospital charity would be appreciated be his family.
Special thank you to all the medical staff at the Dartmouth General Hospital for their kindness shown to David and to his friends of more than 30 years, Ken Sing, Laurie Doucette, Dwight MacKenzie. Thank you for always keeping in touch on a weekly basis. Thank you to Rev. Patricia Malin for your words of comfort and to Robert and Kim MacKinley and Helen Allison for always being there for us.
