<div itemprop="description">CAVICCHI, David (Dave) Charles - 64 of Dartmouth. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dave on Wednesday July 4, 2012 at the VG Site, QEII hospital after a courageous battle with cancer with his loving wife Jan by his side. Born in Halifax on April 24, 1948, Dave was the eldest son of the late Joseph (Max) and Carmen (Langley) Cavicchi. Dave was a man of many talents. He played drums and sang backup vocals in several bands in Halifax and the surrounding area. As a huge Elvis Presley fan, Dave enjoyed singing his songs whenever he could. Dave also worked as a courier before beginning a 30 year career at Canadian Tire. Having worked in the Dartmouth, Lower Sackville, and Clayton Park locations, Dave acquired an extensive knowledge of Canadian Tire. His knowledge, combined with his photographic memory, friendly demeanour and sense of humour, earned Dave the nickname &ldquo;Mr. Canadian Tire.&rdquo; Outside of work, Dave enjoyed golfing with his friends, weekly dinners at Jack Astor&rsquo;s in Dartmouth Crossing, gardening, watching Clint Eastwood movies, and spending quality time with his family. Dave is survived by his loving and devoted wife Jan Marie (Wambolt); brother, Richard and sister, Shannon (Keith Luff), both of Oshawa, Ont.; father and mother-in-law, Larry and Donna Wambolt of Bridgewater; sisters-in-law, Jill (Ian) Wilson and Jody Wambolt (Jenn Horne); nephews, Kody and Noah Wilson, and Jamie (Erica) Dahr; niece, Jodi Dahr; several aunts, uncles and cousins; three daughters and several grandchildren. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 8th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and funeral service Monday, July 9th at 1:00 p.m., both in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth . Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens following the service with reception to follow.
