It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden and devastating passing of Cindy’s partner in crime, Don’s best friend & Son, and everyone’s friend Daryn at the young age of 44. Plume, as he was known by, passed away February 14 in the home that he and Cindy built together in Waverly Nova Scotia.
He was born in Moncton on March 11, 1972 to Donald Plume and the late Katherine Plume (Constantine). He graduated from Prince Andrew High in 1991 going on to Akerly Campus to take Home Heating and Furnace Technician which he did not pursue, instead receiving his Network and Administration Certificate from CDI College and becoming an undercover computer geek. He was a long time employee of Bell Aliant. One of his favorite pastimes was botany which is obvious by all the beautiful plants in his home. He definitely had a green thumb. Daryn lived his life to the max. He was a true believer in live for the day. If he had to do something he did it with no hesitation or complaining. He had two modes; on and off. Daryn took his fashion queues from no one. His signature everyday look was his; jeans, a t-shirt and a baseball cap. He loved good food and good times. You could always count on him to bring his signature Pulled Pork, prepared on his beloved Egg, with Cindy’s homemade Corn Bread to the party. He hated Stir-fries, Social Media, Sea Food and hypocrites although not in that order. Daryn loved to travel, whether it was vacations outside of Canada, traveling on his bike or on the water in his Sail boat. Some of his more memorable adventures were when he traveled to Mauritius, where Cindy was on a work assignment. He and Cindy made many great memories on that tiny little island east of Madagascar. Whether it was surprising Cindy with tickets to New Orleans to see Journey and taking in the local cuisine and culture to traveling the province together on his bike hauling his signature camper taking in music festivals and unique camp grounds to taking his Mom to Ireland in the last year of her life, Plume was in his element when traveling. Although less than an average life span, Plume did not live an average life. He traveled when and where he wanted to travel, laughed inappropriately at every chance, learned what he wanted to learn, fixed what he wanted to fix and loved who he wanted to love.
"He is survived by his better half, or as he put it – his better 7/8ths – Cindy Corriveau, his step-son Jesse Sinanan (Mailin Bowles) his father, Don Plume(Marjorie Cameron) of Dartmouth, his sister Sherry Cole of PEI and many family members in New Brunswick. He also leaves behind Emma and Peggy or as he fondly referred to them as white dog and black dog. He was predeceased by his Mother Kathy, his maternal grandparents, George and Elizabeth Constantine and his paternal grandparents, Walter and Mina Plume Daryn loved his animals and considered them apart of his family. He was predeceased by many pets including Steve French, Mufassa, Crimus, Kiki, Luca, Chelsea and his escape artist Chevy. " He definitely was one of a kind; he always found humor in almost every situation. Whatever it was, he managed to get through it by laughing at it and getting you to laugh. Daryn was always the life of the party, his witty, sometimes sick sense of humor always kept us all laughing. He will be missed at many annual parties and in Jamaica where on his return vacation there he was greeted by his name and was remembered by the locals. His regrets were few but included eating a rotisserie hotdog from a convenience store in the summer of 2005. Just Sayin! From stating, “I used to drink but I Still do” to commenting “NICE” at a weekend Rummoli game to “Hey, smell this” to his hilarious comments on “Cat Facts”, Daryn was always witty and funny. “We will never again have a friend like him”
Cremation has taken place and will be kept around as long as they match the décor. He wouldn’t want no wake and long drawn out service so there will be none. Instead we will celebrate his life Saturday 25 February at Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St, Dartmouth NS at 1PM with a proper reception to follow. Daryn didn’t like flowers so please don’t send any instead make a donation to the local SPCA cause that what he would want.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming…..”WOW WHAT A RIDE!”
The world was a better place because you were in it!
