<div itemprop="description">PETERSON, Buddy Lionel, age 68, of Dartmouth. After a short, courageous battle with cancer, Buddy passed away on April 4, 2017 in the VG Site, QEII, Halifax. <br> Born in Upper Blackville, New Brunswick, he was a son of the late Weldon and Gladys (Arbeau) Peterson. <br>He retired from the Royal Canadian Navy after 25 years but continued to serve his fellow sailors through the TRUMP program and numerous refits. Buddy came out of retirement several times and was recently working with Dovekie and then the Davie shipyard in Levis, Quebec. He truly loved going to work every day and was proud of the work he did. His sense of humour and dedication to making things right will be remembered by all who knew him. To Buddy, family was everything and he would always go the extra mile for anyone. <br> <br>He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Claudia (Kelly); son Buddy (Lereana); daughter Kimberley; and granddaughter Keesha, who was the light of his life. He is also survived by brother Weldon Jr.; sisters Bonita, and Louise. <br>Buddy will be sadly missed by his family, sisters-in-law, brothers- in-law, nieces and nephews and his many friends and coworkers. <br> <br>He was predeceased by his sisters Hazel, and Nora; brothers, Malcolm and Arnold, all of New Brunswick. <br> <br>Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9pm on Tuesday April 11 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. Funeral service to take place at 10am on Wednesday April 12 in the funeral home chapel.
