<div itemprop="description">Tynes, Anita Jean, age 86, last surviving member of her immediate family, Sunrise July 16, 1930, Sunset Friday December 2, 2016 where she went to be with her Lord and Saviour. Anita passed peacefully, surrounded by family at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Dartmouth NS. She was the daughter of the late Eva Tynes. <br> <br>Anita was employed for over 25 years as a dietary aide at Deer Lodge Centre, Winnipeg MB, the former Camp Hill Hospital and then the Camp Hill Veterans Memorial Building where she retired in 1990. <br> <br>Anita was a long time member of Victoria Road United Baptist Church, attending Sunday School, BYPU, and eventually serving for decades as a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary and the Senior Choir. She served in many capacities including Telephone Chair and Chair of the Sick Committee where she visited the sick and shut-ins and distributed Christmas Cheer each year. She was a volunteer with the breakfast program at Bicentennial Junior High School for many years. Anita always greeted others with her warm welcoming smile and friendly chuckle. She possessed a great sense of humour. <br> <br>Her interests were singing and listening to gospel music, watching television church programs, game shows, playing her games on the computer and doing word search puzzles. <br> <br>She is survived by her son Scott (Joan) Wilmot, NS , daughter Valerie, Dartmouth, grandsons Jeff Tynes (Jennette), Cordell Naugle, granddaughters Trudy Cox (Dieudonne Wembo), Sheri Lynn (Rick) Millington, special great granddaughter Ellie, sister-in-law Anna Tynes, Winnipeg, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her mother, Anita was predeceased by her brother Carl, sisters Roberta Harris and Audrey Tynes, niece Carla Tynes, nephews Stuart Tynes, Mark Tynes, Brian Harris and very special friend Vivian Fowler. <br> <br>Arrangements under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Homes, Main Street, Dartmouth. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2016, from 6:00 -8:00 pm. Ladies’ Auxiliary service will be conducted at 7:00 pm. Celebration of life will be held Thursday, December 8, 11:00 am at Victoria Road United Baptist Church, Dartmouth with Rev. Wanda Lawrence officiating. <br> <br> Interment will be at Dartmouth Memorial Gardens, with repast to follow at Victoria Road United Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Victoria Road United Baptist Church Chair Lift Fund. <br> <br>Special thanks to Dr. Van Zoost and the nursing staff of 4 East Dartmouth General Hospital for their loving care of our Mother and Grandmother. <br>Well done, good and faithful servant! – Matthew 25:21 <br> <br> <br> <br></div>
