Myatt, Amelia “Jeanne’, passed away on September 21, 2016 surrounded by her family In Northwood Centre.
Jeanne loved being a Mother, Grandma and a Great Grandma. She was a devoted wife to Marshall for 61 years. Jeanne was born in Saint Pierre et Miquelon. She entered Canada via Pier 21 before Newfoundland‘s welcome to confederation. Her family eventually settled in Purcell’s Cove where Jeanne Marshall and their family and her sister’s family and parents all lived.
Jeanne worked for many years with DND and loved being in the Cadets where she achieved the rank of Captain. She loved to mentor young people. Jeanne was involved in Tops Club Inc. for 50 years, where she achieved International acclaim as a member of the Board of Directors. She received ambassador awards for bringing many conventions to many parts of the Atlantic Provinces. Jeanne loved to walk, travel, shop and watch people.
Jeanne was predeceased by her husband Marshall; parents Peter and Alice Hicks; and sister Vera.
Jeanne leaves behind her children, Peter (Cathy), Patricia, Patrick (Heather); grandchildren Nathan (Cheryl), Eric (Angie), Lauren (Neil), Spencer(Sarah), Haley; and five great grandchildren; many Nieces and nephews and all her special friends, you know who you are.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration Mass will be held at 10am on Monday September 26 in Saint Andrews Church, 1570 Shore Road, Eastern Passage, Father Johni Matthew officiating. Reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to 6 Centre Alder Shore Recreation Therapy Northwood.
